Type Posters
This is a set of posters for four nonfiction books each with very different tones and subject matter. The challenge was to make a book club poster with a schedule and summary for each book while honoring the individual spirit of each book through the imagery.
Each poster was designed to reflect the emotional weight and themes of its book:
The For Hearing People Only poster uses bold, minimal design centered around communication and understanding. The poster includes drawings of fingerspelling to include Deaf culture into the design further tying into the book’s meaning.
The In Order to Live poster captures resilience and hope while sticking with Korean designs relating to the book.
The Genesis poster evokes mystery and tension through dark, organic imagery with woven branches relating to the fall at beginning of the book.
The Revelation poster contrasts the Genesis poster by using light, peaceful visuals symbolizing renewal and completion.
Throughout the set, I used thoughtful typography, muted color palettes, and symbolic imagery to create a visually connected series that lets each book’s story and emotion speak for itself.
